About

Vertical Life is a new digital climbing entity focused on Australasia. We plan to cover the full gamut of the digital spectrum, pushing content to our quarterly electronic mag, to our developing website and to social media. However, that small part at the bottom of our hearts still beats with love with the in-the-hand feel of a mag, so the Vertical Life ‘Grand Plan’ also includes a once-a-year, high-end printed tome – a collector’s edition detailing life in the vertical, the kind of thing you can keep in a humidity-controlled shrine for your most precious objects (or, alternatively, beside the dunny).

Here at Vertical Life we love climbing, be it beanied bouldering, clip-up sportclimbing, old-school daddy-tradding, big-wall suffering, alpine extremism, spandex-clad competition climbing, desperate-times-call-for-desperate-measures buildering, the lot – if it involves monkey business we will cover it. If you have a story, photos or video to share, then get in touch with us on ozeditor@verticallifemag.com.au

Vertical Life is published by Adventure Types. Adventure Types is a collection of passionate editors and outdoors people comprising Simon Madden and Ross Taylor, the editors of Vertical Life, as well as Chris Ord (Trail Run Mag editor), Pat Kinsella (Paddle Mag editor) and Terry Wogan (advertising and schmoozing). Adventure Types also produces Vertical Life’s sister publications,  Trail Run magazine (www.trailrunmag.com) and the on-its-way Paddle Mag (www.paddlemag.com.au).

Thanks and big-ups
Vertical Life would never have been born without the graceful, generous and ongoing support of our contributors, featured climbers, athletes, advertisers, designers, dirtbags, videographers, advice-givers, hand-holders, web gurus, belayers and Adventure Types.
