DMM comp winner

Everyone loves a good rack so obviously we were inundated with entries for our #CLIMBNOWWORKLATER DMM comp. But it wasn’t just the big-ol’ prize of a DMM trad rack including a set of DMM’s Dragons cams from size 0 to 6, a set of Wallnuts from size 1–11, ten Phantom 18cm quickdraws, two Boa screwgate karabiners, and a chalk bag that together are worth more than $1500 and would struggle to fit into the Fat Man’s sack. It was the spirit of the competition. Climb now, work later is a mantra close to the hearts of all climbers, whether you be a committed dirtbag who has an anaphylactic reaction to working 9-5 under fluro lights or you spend too much time on Internet forums when you ought to be minimising the tax liability of private banking clients. Everybody wants to climb more and work less.

Choosing the winner was harder than sticking the crux on Retired Extremely Dangerous. But choose we did, and the winner is Macciza Macpherson. A man so dedicated to Climb Now he is still tricking his aged mother into letting him live at home so he doesn’t have to get a job. The lesson, kiddies, is if you want to climb now and work later make a devil’s pact with your mother and the glorious freedom to climb at will can be yours. Congratulations Macizza and may the DMM trad gear keep you safe and sound and with your priorities straight for years to come.
